What is happening
Tried some different strategies for modeling and style. I decided to simplify my style some more, so that self shadows are optional. Came up with a way to ensure that the linework for 3d models designed to look like comic art will look like comic art from most or all angles, depending on how many 3d sprites I make for different camera angles, and how stylized I make the models. I went for a more stylized look, and it worked. Probably for stuff like hands, 6 sprites (angles) will be needed, and for heads, maybe 6 - 8, depending on how many angles I can make look good with a wide variance. Boxy objects don't seem to need this treatment very much or at all, it's mostly needed for organic objects that have many ways to draw in comic art, depending on the angle, like the human nose, mouth and eyes.
What is next
More character parts done in this vein. Also I want to redo the Patreon banner art I did last week to adhere to this more simplified look, and use that as a workflow aid later on for environment art.
